Ahead of the Universal Exhibition, which opens in Shanghai in May, Karl Lagerfeld has turned to the Orient for inspiration for the latest Chanel costume jewellery collection. There is an imperial quality to the range, which sees mythical dragons wrapped around wrists and turned into brooches, and ancient Chinese folklore reinterpreted into necklaces and earrings. It's all very "Forbidden City" and very, very desirable.
